The new edition of the International Watch and Jewelery Show, Baselworld opened on March 22 and will run until March 27, 2018 inclusive. This year again, the show promises to be rich in new products and technologies but also in surprises! Zoom on two new models that have not stopped talking about them since the opening of the show!
The Rolex GMT-Master II
Created in 1955, the Rolex GMT Master returns this year with a brand new model. This is the GMT Master II, originally designed for airline pilots to guide them in their navigation. The latter features a 40mm Oystersteel steel case and a bidirectional rotating Pepsi bezel made of ceramic, these colors are reminiscent of the original model. This new model makes it possible to simultaneously read the time of two time zones thanks to its 24-hour hand and its bidirectional rotating bezel graduated 24 hours. Its sapphire crystal is scratch resistant and is made of a Cyclops loupe on the date. The timepiece is also waterproof up to 100 meters and is equipped with the brand new caliber 3285, it is a new generation movement fully developed and manufactured by Rolex.
No doubt this model will be the star of the show! If you want to make a nice gift, know that this little wonder is offered at a price of 8 150 euros.
The Tudor Black Bay GMT
The Swiss brand Tudor is also making a name for itself at this new edition of Baselworld by presenting its Tudor Black Bay GMT. Indeed, the Black Bay collection welcomes three new models with GMT function. The latter was largely inspired by the old diving models of the brand. It is equipped with a Manufacture MT5652 caliber and, surprisingly, it is also equipped with a Pepsi bezel just like the new model from Rolex. Its 41 mm case is made of steel and allows to simultaneously read the time of two time zones, a similarity with the Rolex model. In addition, it has a water resistance up to 200 meters and a power reserve of about 70 hours. Finally, three different bracelets are available for this new model: a steel bracelet for a more sporty style, a brown leather strap “Terra di Siena” for a vintage spirit and a fabric strap for a more modern look!
With this model, Tudor once again marks his affinity with his big sister, the Rolex brand. However, unlike the price of the Rolex, the price displayed for the model with steel bracelet is quite affordable, namely about 3,200 euros.
The next days of Baselworld promise some nice surprises for the first day!
